
Sri Vijaya Puram, June 22: On the occasion of the International Day of Yoga, a Pain Relief Clinic and Yoga Session was organized at Abhyuday Complex, Ferrargunj, through the collaborative efforts of the State Child Protection Society (SCPS) under Mission Vatsalya, Department of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, and PANKH NGO. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior citizens residing in the Old Age Home, children from the Children’s Home, and beneficiaries of Ashraya Home.
The initiative was organized under the guidance and encouragement of Shri Ravinder Kumar, Director (Social Welfare), A&N Administration, whose continued emphasis on holistic health, well-being, and community-based interventions has fostered programmes aimed at the welfare of children, senior citizens, and other vulnerable sections of society.
At the outset, the Program Manager, State Child Protection Society, Mission Vatsalya, highlighted the significance of yoga and healthy lifestyle practices in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being. She emphasized the importance of fostering care, compassion, and harmonious interaction between children and senior citizens, while encouraging participants to adopt healthy habits for a balanced and fulfilling life.
The Founder of PANKH NGO appreciated the collaborative initiative and underscored the importance of community participation in promoting wellness and preventive healthcare. She stressed the need to create greater awareness regarding holistic health practices and healthy living across all age groups.
The therapeutic and wellness sessions were conducted by specialists from SoulSync Alternative Therapy Clinic, who guided participants through yoga practices and therapeutic pain-relief interventions aimed at improving mobility, alleviating chronic pain, and enhancing overall physical and mental well-being. Their holistic approach to healthcare was highly appreciated by the participants.
The 35 elderly residents of the Old Age Home benefitted from the therapeutic sessions, while children actively participated in yoga activities designed to improve physical fitness, concentration, discipline, and emotional resilience.
The In-charge of Abudaya Complex appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of conducting such programmes regularly to support the welfare and holistic development of both children and senior citizens residing in the institution.
The programme concluded with a message encouraging the public to embrace yoga and healthy lifestyle practices, while recognizing that true wellness is achieved through a harmonious balance of physical health, mental well-being, and emotional resilience.
