Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 30: The Chief Electoral Officer of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri L. Kumar, IAS, has announced that the Election Commission of India has revised the schedule of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in twelve States and Union Territories, including the A&N Islands. The revised schedule supersedes the earlier timeline issued on October 27, 2025.
As per the updated schedule, the enumeration period, which was earlier set to conclude on December 4, 2025, has now been extended, and the new last date for submission of the Enumeration Form is December 11, 2025. The Draft Electoral Rolls will be published on December 16, 2025, and claims and objections will be accepted from December 16, 2025, to January 15, 2026. The Notice Phase, including issuance, hearings, and verification, will be conducted from December 16, 2025, to February 7, 2026. The Final Electoral Rolls will be published on February 14, 2026.
The CEO urged all electors of the A&N Islands to submit their Enumeration Forms, which have already been distributed by the Booth Level Officers, before the revised deadline of December 11, 2025. He cautioned that electors who fail to submit the form by the stipulated date will not have their names included in the Draft Electoral Roll scheduled for publication on December 16, 2025.
Emphasizing the significance of the ongoing enumeration exercise, Shri Kumar stated that the Special Intensive Revision plays a crucial role in ensuring an accurate, error-free, and inclusive electoral roll. He encouraged electors to avoid waiting until the last moment to submit their completed forms, so as to prevent any inconvenience.
The CEO also appealed to all eligible electors and political parties to extend full cooperation and participate actively in the democratic process by submitting their duly filled Enumeration Forms to the Booth Level Officers or to the help desks at the offices of the DEO or AERO at the earliest.
In case of any difficulty, electors may contact their respective Booth Level Officers or call the Voter Helpline Number 1950 for assistance.
