Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 26: As part of the ongoing “Swasth Nari, Sakshat Pariwar Abhiyaan,” a dedicated health screening camp was organized for the staff of the Directorate of Rural Development (RD), Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI), and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and self Help groups. The camp primarily focused on the early detection and prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Tuberculosis (TB), utilizing advanced diagnostic tools including Chest X-ray screening.
This initiative was aimed at promoting a culture of preventive and proactive healthcare among working professionals by providing them with convenient access to essential health services during office hours. The camp saw enthusiastic participation from employees, who availed themselves of the free on-site medical check-ups.
The Deputy Commissioner (SA) further stated that this initiative forms a critical part of the “Swasth Nari, Sakshat Pariwar Abhiyaan”, which seeks to enhance the overall health and well-being of women and families through awareness generation, preventive care, and early diagnosis. The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted that similar health screening camps are planned across other government departments and institutions to foster a healthier, more productive workforce.
The Deputy Commissioner (SA) has urged individuals falling under vulnerable categories such as those who had TB in the past five years, have been in close contact with a TB patient, are current or former smokers or alcoholics, have diabetes, are malnourished, or are above 60 years of age to visit the nearest X-ray facility and get their chest X-ray done at the earliest.
