Sri Vijaya Puram: A grand Ganesh Bhog Yatra 2026 was taken out in Sri Vijaya Puram on this afternoon with a massive 5,575-kilogram laddu, drawing the attention of devotees and local residents along the route. The yatra commenced at around 3 pm from the 4-Seasons office on VIP Road.
Before the yatra began, a special puja was performed at the 4-Seasons office for the giant laddu and Lord Ganesha. Renowned Chef Ashwar Pal Singh, along with his entire team, participated in the rituals and sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha for the successful conduct of the event.
Following the puja, the massive laddu was taken out as part of the grand procession. Accompanied by a beautifully decorated idol of Lord Ganesha, the giant laddu remained one of the major attractions of the yatra. Devotees and local residents gathered at various points along the route to witness the unique religious procession.
The yatra proceeded from VIP Road through prominent areas of Sri Vijaya Puram, including Dairy Farm and Junglighat, before reaching Netaji Club, where the procession concluded.
At Netaji Club, the 5,575-kilogram laddu was placed for public darshan, allowing devotees to view the massive offering prepared as part of this year’s Ganesh Bhog Yatra. Devotees also had the opportunity to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha and participate in the distinctive religious celebration.
The giant laddu prepared this year weighs 5,575 kilograms, which is 1,133 kilograms more than last year’s 4,442-kilogram laddu. The previous year’s giant laddu, prepared by Chef Ashwar Pal Singh in association with 4-Seasons event management, had earned recognition in the India Book of Records.
Building on last year’s achievement, the organisers prepared an even larger laddu this year as an attempt to establish a new record. The massive offering and the accompanying procession added a distinctive feature to the Ganesh celebrations in Sri Vijaya Puram.
