Diglipur, Sept. 05: Public services and administrative work in the Diglipur Sub-Division are being severely disrupted owing to the erratic District Portal of North and Middle Andaman district.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha Daily, the Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur Mr. Dipankar Mistry said that for the last two weeks, the District Portal of North and Middle Andaman district has remained erratic owing to technical reasons, and due to which many important public services and administrative work in the district are being disrupted. This portal is an extremely important medium for providing various types of online services to the citizens, the Pramukh stressed. Through this portal, caste certificate, residence certificate, income certificate, birth-death certificate, license, pension, marriage registration, and many other services are obtained, he maintained.
Due to the closure/erratic service of this portal, not only the common citizens are facing problems, but the pace of work in government offices has also slowed down, Mr. Mistry claimed. Many applications are reportedly pending, which is creating a feeling of dissatisfaction among the public, he alleged. Especially students, unemployed youth, senior citizens and residents of rural areas, who heavily depend on these services, are reportedly facing a lot of difficulties, the Pramukh decried.
Apart from this, other digital portals like Urja Pay, Dweep Bhumi, e Stamp, e-Service, RoR Service are also not reportedly working properly. Due to technical glitches of these portals, citizens are facing problems in paying electricity bills, getting information about land records, stamp certificates, register of rights and other administrative services, he argued.
The Pramukh has also reportedly written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, N & M Andaman district with the urge to give priority to this problem and direct the concerned technical department so that the above portals can be reactivated soon. Also, if possible, a public notice should be issued in which the current status of the portal, technical reasons and the time limit for possible solution should be clearly stated so that citizens can get proper information, he reportedly further urged in the letter.
