
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 03: (PIB) Biological Park, Chidiyatapu, in collaboration with the Education Department, Andaman and Nicobar Administration today celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by organizing a specially curated educational and recreational programme for children with special needs from various schools across the Islands.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Meera Nambiar, Deputy Director, Biological Park, Chidiyatapu expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the participating schools and emphasized the Park’s continued dedication to fostering inclusive learning spaces. “International Day of Persons with Disabilities reminds us of our collective responsibility to create environments where every child feels welcomed, respected, and valued,” she added.
More than 219 children, accompanied by teachers and caregivers, took part in the celebrations. The programme featured guided tours of the animal enclosures led by the Park’s executive staff, along with interactive awareness sessions designed to ensure comfort, engagement, and enriching learning experiences for all participants.
The serene natural surroundings of the Biological Park provided an ideal setting for students with diverse abilities to explore wildlife and understand the island ecosystem in a warm, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere.
