Port Blair, Sep 15: Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration for the permit to award the processed tender infrastructure works during the last tenure of Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur.
In a letter, Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Pramukh mentioned that some tenders were proposed during the last tenure of Panchayat Samiti Diglipur up to October 2020 as per the list enclosed and due to abolishing of Panchayat Samiti the listed work cannot be undertaken and all the essential works are pending.
He stated that now upon the re-constitution of Panchayat Samiti the residents and general public are pressing hard for better infrastructure which has been halted due to Covid – 19 restrictions as well as the closure of this office.
He mentioned that now the members of this Panchayat Samiti unanimously decided to continue with the listed works and passed a resolution to this effect in the General Meeting held on 03.09.2022 for inclusion in the Annual Plan/District Planning Committee Zilla Level. In some cases, work orders/Award letters have already been issued before the abolishing of this office, now this office intends to proceed with such work issued, as re-tendering will attract additional time and cost.
He stated that the awardees of the work order/tender are willing to execute the works at the original accepted tender rates. At present around Rs. 06 Cr of fund balance is available with this office which was meant for the said developmental activities prior to abolishing Panchayat Samiti.
Therefore, Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Pramukh requested the Chief Secretary to direct the concerned authorities to award these works to the successful bidders following codal formalities and for utilization of said funds.
