Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 14: The Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dr. Dinesh Sharma Ji today conducted a detailed review of the functioning of the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) at Lok Niwas, Sri Vijaya Puram. The meeting deliberated on strengthening inter-island connectivity, increasing the frequency of cargo vessel services, and proposals for introducing new vessel services to Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam.
In addition to this, the Lt. Governor reviewed the functioning of the Excise Department at Lok Niwas and held discussions with the concerned officials regarding various departmental activities.
The meetings were attended by the Chief Secretary, Shri Gyanesh Bharti; Commissioner-cum-Secretary; Secretary (Shipping); Secretary (Excise); Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman; and other senior officers.
