Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 14: Various delegations paid courtesy visits to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, today at Lok Niwas, Sri Vijaya Puram.
In this sequence, the General Secretary of the Atul Smriti Samiti (Bengali Club), along with members of the committee, met the Lt. Governor and extended a cordial invitation to him to attend the inauguration ceremony of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.
Similarly, the President and office-bearers of the INA Smriti Samiti met the Lt. Governor and apprised him of the various programmes being organised by the committee.
Apart from this, the State President of the Republican Party of India (RPI), along with a delegation, also paid a courtesy visit to the Lt. Governor.
During these meetings, discussions were held on social and cultural activities in the islands, public welfare initiatives, promotion of social harmony, and the preservation and promotion of cultural traditions, a press release from Lok Niwas said.
