Port Blair, 09 Dec 19: Indian Coast Guard is celebrating the “Swachhta Pakhwada’’ between 01 -15 Dec throughout the Isles, spreading the GOI flagship programme “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.Indian Coast Guard is conducting various special cleanship drives aiming to spread awareness and implementation across the Coast Guard establishments, residential area beaches with a focus on cleanliness and creation of a clean and healthy habitat free of single use plastics. The possible areas towards “Swachhta Abhiyan” includes beaches, cleaning of in and around areas of Coast Guard establishment/residential area.
On 09 Dec 19, Indian Coast Guard Personnel undertook special cleanship drive in their respective office and residential areas including Coast Guard Jetty. The units also conducted various lectures, debate competitions and slogan writing in-house to spread awareness about and ill effects of using plastics and reiterated our duty towards ensuring clean environment.
