Port Blair, July 9: The Live Phone Public Hearing System by the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands has been introduced for facilitating the residents of the Islands, especially those suffering from ailments, elderly citizens, those with employment related problems and islanders residing in outer Islands/hinterland, who had been finding it difficult so far to appear before the Lt. Governor in person during the Public Hearing Sessions at Raj Niwas.
The second such public hearing was held today which witnessed large number of applicants, especially from the outer segments such as Katchal, Diglipur, Rangat, Hut Bay, etc. Residents across the territory, without having to travel to Port Blair in person and thus being appreciative of the same, were able to submit their grievances directly to Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and the Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency.
Cases of applicants who couldn’t be contacted/ connected being outside coverage area would be taken up for hearing this week separately. The dates for subsequent (third) Live Phone Public Hearing would be notified in due course.
