Port Blair, Jan 15: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti & Pongal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad made special arrangements at Corbyn’s Cove to celebrate the fest with the Islanders. The programme commenced at 9 AM in which Swamy Shuddhanand Saraswati of Chinmaya Mission.
Haripada Nandji Maharaj of Bharat Sevashram Sangha and Swamy Suryanath Agnihotri of Sadhu Pahad, preached in the importance of these festivals. They spoke till 12:00 noon, which was followed by bhog/prasadam, enjoyed by more than 4500 Islanders. The programme concluded by 2:00pm with note of love place and harmony.
