Port Blair, Jan 15: The Principal, Staff and Trainees of Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair have deeply mourned the sad and untimely demise of Mr. Beant Singh, Former Director of Education on 14th January 2018 at G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair.
During a condolence meeting held in the College, the principal, staff and students remembered his contribution in the establishment of the College as establishment of Secondary Teacher Training Programme to fulfill the requirement of graduate and postgraduate teachers was his brainchild.
All the staff members and trainees paid floral tributes and observed two-minutes silence in his memory. The College will always remember him for the services he had extended to this College for its establishment.
He was a sincere and devoted officer who worked hard for the benefit of the islanders, teachers and for the education of these islands.
