Port Blair, June 07: Debrief of Coastal Security Exercise Tatsuraksha 01/12 was conducted under chairmanship of Shri Anand Prakash, IAS, Chief Secretary, A & N Administration on 06 Jun 12. The conference was attended by the Shri SBS Deol, DGP A & N Police, Rear Admiral Sudhir Pillai, NM, Chief of Staff Andaman Nicobar Command and Inspector General VSR Murthy, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A & N) apart from representatives of various stake holders. The Coastal Security Exercise was conducted from 11-13 Apr 12 with the participation of 16 agencies. A detailed presentation along with recommendation was made by Commandant (JG) T Ashish, Regional Ops & Plan Officer of Coast Guard during the meeting.
The role played by each agency during the Coastal Security Exercise in handling the induced situations was discussed in detail. The Coastal Security of the A & N Islands was also reviewed and decisions regarding important Coastal Security issues were also taken during the meeting.
The Chief Secretary appreciated overwelcoming participation of all stakeholders during exercise and suggested to incorporate the lessons learnt, during the future exercises.
