Head of 65 year old smashed by unknown vehicle; Body remained unattended for nearly 10 hours

Mayabunder, Sept 29: Call it growing insensitivity or fear of complex legal formalities among we, the Islanders, a dead body of a 65 year old man was lying on busy Andaman Trunk Road for about nearly 10 hours but nobody informed the matter to Police Station.
According to reports available here Mr. Kishan Lal, 65 years, a resident of Kaichi Nallah Middle Andaman was hit by an unknown vehicle on the Andaman Trunk Road, between Wireless Tickry and Jalebi Ghumai, Togapur, Middle Andaman on 27th September night at around 8.00 PM. The accident was so deadly that the head of Kishan Lal was smashed by the unknown vehicle and his brain splashed everywhere on the road.
The body was lying on the ATR till 6.30 am of next morning but no one even bothered to report this matter to Police, although till late night APWD trucks crossed the said road with construction materials and since early morning, vehicles started plying on ATR, including STS buses. Roughly more than 50 vehicles crossed the stretch between 8.00 pm (27 September) to 6.30 am (28 September).
Atlast a Jeep Driver, Mr. Laxman of Ravi Travels showed some respect for the departed soul and informed the matter to Police Out Post of Badamnallah. Following which, the body was shifted to nearby Hospital for Post Mortem, which confirmed that Kishan Lal was under heavy influence of alcohol at the time of death.
According to reports gathered by Andaman Sheekha Kishan Lal was last seen in Bus, which was going towards Rangat from Mayabunder. According to passengers of the bus, Kishan Lal was under heavy influence of alcohol and was continuously disturbing all other passengers.
When the matter went out of control, the conductor of the Bus reportedly asked Kishan Lal to get down at Buddha Nallah Bus Stop.
It is believed that after that Bus Stop Kishan Lal started walking towards his home and on the way he was hit by an unknown vehicle, which resulted in his death. Sadly till now the Police Department could not find out, which vehicle had hit Kishan Lal.
