Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 21: As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, schools, in coordination with staff, students and Safai Mitras, actively carried out cleanliness drives across their premises and surrounding areas. The Swachhata Awareness Team (SAT) sensitized participants about the importance of segregating waste, proper disposal of garbage, and keeping their surroundings clean and safe. Students and staff actively cleaned classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and nearby areas, showing their dedication to maintaining a clean and healthy surrounding.
This initiative not only enhanced the overall hygiene and appearance of school environments but also highlights the values of collective responsibility, civic duty and the vital role of the community in effective waste management practices. The proactive involvement of schools reflects a growing awareness among the younger generation about the significance of cleanliness, environmental stewardship, and public health.
Similarly, a cleanliness drive was also conducted this morning at the National Memorial Cellular Jail and Veer Savarkar Park to maintain hygiene and preserve the sanctity of these historic sites.
Cleanliness drive was conducted yesterday at the Department of Science and Technology in coordination with the Safai Mitras of Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council, graciously attended by the Ward Councillor. Similar drives were also carried out at various other institutions to promote cleanliness and maintain hygiene.
