Sri Vijaya Puram, Sep 21: As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, a mass cleanup drive was jointly organised yesterday at Corbyn’s Cove Beach by the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council and the Indian Coast Guard, A&N Command. The drive, which commenced in the morning, witnessed active participation from SVPMC staff, senior officials, Sanitary Inspectors, Sanitary Workers, families of Indian Coast Guard personnel and the general public.
During the programme, the Swachhata Awareness Team (SAT) sensitized participants on the importance of waste segregation and sustainable waste management practices. The collected waste was carefully segregated and the dry waste sent to the Dry Resource Centre for recycling.
The initiative not only enhanced the cleanliness and appeal of the beachfront but also highlighted the spirit of collective responsibility and community participation.
