Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 14: As part of the Independence Day 2025 celebrations, the State Library, Sri Vijaya Puram will be organizing an Essay and Elocution Competition for students of the Senior Group (Classes IX to XII). The event aims to commemorate the spirit of freedom, honor the sacrifices and legacy of our national heroes and encourage young minds to engage in thoughtful reflection on the values of patriotism and nation-building.
The initiative is designed not only as a tribute to India’s hard-won independence but also as a platform to nurture critical thinking, creativity and effective communication among school students. Participants will be invited to explore themes related to India’s past, present and future ranging from the freedom movement and constitutional values to current national challenges and the pivotal role of youth in shaping the country’s future.

The event is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from various schools in the region. Winners will be recognized with awards, and all participants will receive certificates of appreciation.
Through this initiative, the State Library aims to foster an environment of intellectual engagement and patriotic enthusiasm, making the 79th Independence Day not only a moment of remembrance but also an occasion for learning, growth and inspiration for the younger generation.
