Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 15: The Ministry of Power, Government of India, through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), in association with NTPC Limited, will conduct the Andaman & Nicobar Islands School-Level Painting Competition 2026 to promote awareness about energy efficiency and conservation among school students.
The competition aims to provide young students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and artistic talent while spreading the message of energy conservation and contributing towards a sustainable future.
The competition will be held on the following two themes: “Save Energy at School and Home” “Energy Conservation is the Key for Energy Security”
Competition Structure: At the School Level, schools are required to conduct a two-hour painting session for students in two groups: Group A: Classes 5th, 6th and 7th, Group B: Classes 8th, 9th and 10th
Each school shall select the top two paintings from each group and submit them to the State/UT Nodal Office along with the complete details of the participating students by October 15, 2026. At the State/UT Level, the competition will be conducted between November 14 and 21, 2026. The exact date will be coordinated by schools with the respective State/UT Nodal Officer. A total of 50 selected students from each group will participate.
The State/UT Level prizes for each group will include ₹50,000 for the first prize, ₹30,000 for the second prize, ₹20,000 for the third prize and 10 appreciation prizes of ₹7,500 each. The top three winners from each group will qualify for the National-Level Competition. The National-Level Competition will be held on December 11, 2026, at Delhi, where the top three winners from each group at the State/UT level will participate.
At the National Level, the first prize winner in each group will receive ₹1,00,000, a laptop and a Gold Medal; the second prize winner will receive ₹50,000, a laptop and a Silver Medal; and the third prize winner will receive ₹30,000, a laptop and a Bronze Medal. Ten appreciation prizes of ₹15,000 each along with a tablet will also be awarded in each group. The National-Level winners, along with their parents, will also be provided a guided tour to Madhav Facilities in January 2027, fully sponsored by BEE.
Submission of Entries: Schools are required to submit the necessary documents and selected paintings through both email and post. Soft copies are to be submitted to beepaintingcompetition2026@gmail.com, including scanned copies of the best two paintings from each group, a duly signed forwarding letter from the Head of Institution and the list of students who participated in Groups A and B.

The last date for submission of paintings is October 15, 2026. All School Heads has been requested to ensure timely submission of all required documents and paintings through both email and post to facilitate smooth conduct of the competition.
