
Port Blair, Aug 07: Today, on 07/08/2024, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands, proudly inaugurated the new Children’s Traffic Park at Diglipur. The park is designed to educate young minds about traffic rules and safety. It features an innovative e-learning kiosk “Gyan Kendra” and a vibrant “KalpongKafe” cafeteria, making it a unique and engaging destination for children and families.
This Traffic Park offers a dynamic learning environment where children can explore traffic rules and signs through a variety of fun and interactive experiences. A Cycle track with cycles for all age groups makesit allowing them to practice road safety rules in a simulated environment.
Further, e-learning Kiosk- “Gyan Kendra” equipped with screen projector, tablets and laptops with quizzes of varying difficulty levels, educational games, and informative videos. The Traffic Park also includes adventure and sports area, keeping in mind to develop problem-solving skills, team spirit, leadership qualities, and a culture of outdoor activity for children.A beautifully designed space with blackboards and an open amphitheatre surrounded by nature, offering a venue for various creative activities and performances.
A KalpongKafe, an interesting space within the Traffic Park where families can relax and enjoy a variety of snacks. This welcoming area offers a cool and comfortable setting for both children and parents, enhancing their visit to the park with relaxation and refreshment.
The DGP highlighted that the Traffic Park represents a significant community effort. An in-house developed project of Andaman and Nicobar Police where many people of society have contributed for this social cause to a perfect model of police public relation. The vision of DGP, A & N Islands to build reputation with public, focus on community outreach and serve society has been an inspiration.
The event was attended by Mrs. Varsha Sharma IPS, DIGP(L&O) and Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal IPS, SP N&MA Districtalong with local officials from civil & defence and community leaders who commended the efforts of the police department in continually improving its infrastructure and services.
