Port Blair, Oct 26: A prime property of Government of India, behind the old quarter of Station Director of All India Radio is reportedly being encroached by some unknown people. Surprisingly the property is very close to the entrance gate of Andaman Nicobar Command and motive behind such encroachment in such sensitive place is not yet known.
Already there are many dilapidated quarters of AIR Port Blair in the same area, which are under constant occupation of antisocial elements. Recent encroachment of government property adjacent to the boundary wall of Inter State Police Wireless is an alarming situation.
Andaman Sheekha Daily has obtained photographs, which show that encroachers are presently building a temporary shed to store construction materials and soon they may start construction work in the land.
Earlier also similar efforts of encroachment were identified after Andaman Sheekha Daily reported about it. There is a need to send police jawans in the area behind old quarter of Station Director of All India Radio frequently for patrolling so that movement of anti-social elements could be tracked.
