Port Blair, May 22: Mr. M. Vinod, State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the leadership of Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has written a letter to the Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Mr. Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India requesting them to provide anti COVID-19 drug 2-DG for Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mr. M Vinod in his letter has expressed gratitude from all residents of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on successfully developing the anti COVID-19 drug 2-DG by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
He further mentioned that the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the medicine for emergency use and requested the dignitaries to send about 1000 doses of the drug to Andaman and Nicobar Islands considering the large number of oxygen dependency cases in the Islands.
