Port Blair, Dec 15: After the ‘Water ATMs’ placed in front of the Port Blair Municipal Council was found effective enough to quench the thirst of the people; the PBMC is now planning to place more 25 ‘Water ATMs’ in different locations of Port Blair city.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Secretary, PBMC, Mr Suneel Anchipaka recently said that under ‘smart city mission’ the department has procured 15 ‘Water ATMs’ which will be placed in the needy and important junctions in the city within mid-December.
He further said that 10 more ‘Water ATMs’, 05 under Corporate Social Responsibility and 05 under MPLAD fund will soon be procured and placed in the city by the end of December, 2019.
“By doing this, our motive is to reduce the usage of plastic among the citizens and make the city eco-friendly,” Secretary PBMC added.
