Diglipur, December 15: After learning the fact that the present contractor, who is supposed to start the flight service between Port Blair and Diglipur has surrendered to take up the project, worried, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parshad, North and Middle Andaman, Mr Dipankar Mistry has requested the Lt Governor to start the 19 seated passenger Aircraft to Diglipur at the earliest.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr Dipankar Mistry said that the airport in Diglipur is ready and hence if flight services starts between Port Blair and Diglipur, it will be the best way of transport for tourists to visit Diglipur. He said that this matter was raised during his recent meeting with the Lt. Governor.
“The Lt Governor had assured me that under scheme 04 of UDAAN a tender will be floated again to fulfill the demand,” he said.
Mr. Dipankar Mistry told Andaman Sheekha that flight services to Diglipur will also bring a big relief for the residents of the area as nobody at present wants to take the bus route due to at present condition of the Andaman Trunk Road.
