Port Blair, June 27: A delegation of PRI members of Baratang consisting of Mr. Biju Gurudasan, the Pradhan of Sundergarh and Mr. G Kurma Rao, ex-Zilla Parishad Members and others today called on the Chief Secretary and highlighted the demands of repairing of village roads and also construction of a bridge over Khara-nallah.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha the Mr. Biju Gurudasan, the Pradhan of Sundergarh today said that during the meeting the CS has assured the delegation that soon enough funds will be issued to all panchayats for road repairing and regarding the bridge the CS has directed the APWD to do the needful.
When the delegation met senior officers of APWD, the delegations was informed that the tender process for the bridge over Khara-nallah has failed thrice because no one is bidding for the same and hence the APWD officials assured that after one more attempt if no results is obtained, the APWD will construct a bailey bridge over Khara-nallah.
