
Port Blair, June 27: Aberdeen Police Station busted a network of drugs peddling by registering three cases and arresting four persons for possessing/supplying narcotics/psychotropic drugs.
On 23/06/2019, in a raid carried out by the team of PS Aberdeen consisting of SI P. Jeevan, HCs Sunil Singh Yadav, Regan Wagh & PC Suresh under the guidance of Inspr. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen near Shivram Complex, Mohanpura 88 tablets of manufactured psychotropic drug SPASMO PROXYVON PLUS were recovered and one person namely Abdul Rashid S/o Late C Mammi, R/o Round Basti was arrested.
Acting on specific information, on 24/06/2019, the above team again conducted raids and registered 03 cases under NDPS Act with recovery of total 1176 Nos. capsules of SPASMO PROXYVON PLUS alongwith 100 Nos. bottles of Eskuf cough syrup and arrested three persons namely Sasidharan Nair S/o A Somnathan, R/o New Pahargaon, Mohammad Amir S/o Late Mohammad Shagir, R/o Shadipur and Abdul Umran S/o Abdul Mazid, R/o Round Basti.
Developing the information further, on 25/06/2019, special squad of PS Aberdeen along with the team of PS Diglipur conducted a joint raid at a pharmacy shop at Diglipur and recovered 530 bottles of Codeine based Escof syrup, 1080 tablets of psychotropic drugs from the possession of M. Laxmanan S/o late Muthu Karpaiya Pilali, (59 yrs)R/o Subhash Gram, Diglipur. During interrogation, he failed to provide satisfactory explanation for sale of such huge quantities of drugs to the accused persons arrested in the aforementioned cases. Therefore, he was arrested under NDPS Act.
All these operations took place under the close supervision of SDPO (SA) Mr. Nishant Gupta assisted by SHO PS Aberdeen under the overall supervision of Mr. Deepak Yadav, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
