Port Blair, Nov 6: The Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works (ALHW) has observed the “Vigilance Awareness Week-2016” from 31-10-2016 to 05-11-2016. The week commenced with the pledge taken by all the Officers and Staff of the Department and a lecture on `Ethics, Values and Attitude’ by Mr S.K. Rai, Administrative Officer (ALHW).
A grievance redressal camp was organized on 01-11-2016 for all the enlisted contractors/vendors wherein about 35 contractors/vendors participated and submitted their grievances/suggestions related to day to-day works. A lecture on vigilance awareness was also delivered on 02-11-2016 by Mr NS Stalin, Inspector, (Anti-Corruption), A & N Administration.
A debate on the topic “Integrity and Eradication of Corruption” was organized on 03-11-2016 for the college students of Port Blair, wherein 8 students four each from JNRM and Andaman College participated and presented their views on the topic in very elaborative way. Shri D. Sathyamoorthy, Deputy Chief Engineer (Mech) has gave away the prizes to the students.
A presentation on “Public participation in promoting Integrity and eradicating Corruption” was given by Shri T.N. Krishnamoorthi, Deputy Chief Engineer(Civil) on 04-11-2016. A C.D containing Guidelines and Circulars issued by the Central Vigilance Commission was also released.
