Port Blair, Dec 20: As part of its ongoing MEDP (Micro Entrepreneurial Development Programmes) under the aegis of NABARD, the Yuvasakthi organized a 13 days Integrated Skill Development Programmes in the premises of Subhash Gram Panchayat Bhawan at Diglipur. Aimed at the multidisciplinary engagement of resource persons from various Departments, this fortnight long session witnessed the participation of field officials from various departments such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Banks and representatives of Panchayats etc. Altogether 30 persons from various hamlets of Diglipur participated in the session and benefitted from the expert advice.
During the discourse, the representative of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary as well as the Agriculture Department elaborated about various schemes available in their respective Departments. They also
exhorted the public to come forward for creating sustainable revenue generation through schemes such as piggery, goattery, floriculture, apiculture etc. While the Bank Officials from the local banks enlightened the public about various financial extension measures available under the schemes of Government of India to Self Help Groups, they called upon the public to make use of the schemes.
Representatives of panchayats assured the public of their unending support towards attaining sustainability of local population in their stride for development. The Pradhan, Subhash Gram Panchayat was the Chief Guest while the Up-Sarpanch of the Panchayat was the guest of honour. Earlier the introductory speech was delivered by Mr.K.Subramani, Co-Founder, Yuvasakthi while the vote of thanks was rendered by Mr.P.Senpagaraja another Co-founder of Yuvasakthi.
