Port Blair, Sept 12: The President Mr. Girish Arora and all members of Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry have expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen AK Singh, (Retd.), Mr. Anand Prakash Chief Secretary and Officers of A&N Administration in materializing the long felt need of the people of these Islands to provide night landing facilities thereby the passenger flight can land during night time. The first flight of Spice Jet has landed Port Blair yesterday night.
This will not only bring a big boon to the Islanders but will also increase inflow of tourists into these islands. This has added yet another feather to the cap of the Lt. Governor who infact with his untiring efforts brought many laurels to the development of these islands in the manner of establishment of Medical College, establishment of Andaman College, providing charter flight service to Car Nicobar and Chennai, etc., said the Chamber.
The ACCI also expressed its thanks to Spice Jet, Civil Aviation, DGCA, Airport Authority of India, A&N Command and Air India, etc. in extending their support in providing the night landing facility in Port Blair. The Chamber has also requested all the Airlines to avail this opportunity to the maximum possible.
This will facilitate the Airlines in operating or connecting South East Asia whereby giving a boost to international tourist arrivals. This will certainly bring down the fare structure to this sector.
