Port Blair, Feb 19: The local media is very much active to bring important local as well as mainland based news and views for the knowledge of the general public of these islands. Most of these media personnel with limited infrastructure are very much active and rendering their social responsibilities to the entire satisfaction of the people of these islands.
Since most of them are unemployed young local youths and somehow managing their publication with utmost hardship, the PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor to consider subsidized newsprint and freight charges to the local media as a special consideration which, according to Kuldeep, will be very much helpful to them and boost their sincerity and responsibility towards these islands and islanders.
