Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 13: The Equal Opportunity Cell, JNRM organized an awareness programme on Government scholarships and welfare schemes for ST, OBC, EWS and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) students at the Lecture Gallery, JNRM.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Hema Bannerjee, HoD, Department of Economics and Chairperson, Equal Opportunity Cell. Dr. Jochibed Vincent, Member Secretary, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the Cell’s commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities.
Dr. Apurba Singh, Research and Training Specialist, Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, served as the resource person. She explained various Central and UT Government scholarships, including Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Top-Class Education schemes, covering eligibility, income limits, required documents, application procedures and renewal processes.
More than 300 students from various departments participated in the programme. An interactive question-and-answer session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding scholarship applications. Members of the Equal Opportunity Cell and ST & SC Cell were also present.
