Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 23: District President of BJP, Mr. Jitender Narayan has urged the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, to issue necessary directions regarding the reported non-distribution of refilled LPG cylinders for the past three months.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Narayan stated that the issue had been brought to his notice by several Ward Members, Municipal Councillors, Pradhans and members of the general public from various Panchayats. According to the letter, refilled LPG cylinders have reportedly not been distributed for the past three months, causing difficulties for consumers.
It was further stated that a large number of people, including women and elderly persons, have been waiting for long hours for LPG refills but have been returning without receiving cylinders. The letter also stated that proper communication regarding the delay or the reasons for non-distribution had not been provided to the public.
Mr. Narayan urged the Administration to issue necessary directions to the concerned department for the immediate distribution of all pending refilled LPG cylinders and to ensure that future LPG distribution is carried out according to a timely and advance schedule.
He further requested that an LPG distribution schedule, covering municipal wards and Panchayats, be prepared in advance and widely communicated to the public through the local press, All India Radio, Doordarshan and the official website of the Administration.
