Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 18: A delegation of Allopathic doctors engaged on contract under DHS/NRHM, along with the Member of Parliament met the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health) today in the presence of the DHS and submitted their grievances for enhancement of salary package and extension of benefits such as annual increment, Hard Area Allowance, TA and other admissible benefits, at par with those extended to regular GDMO doctors under DHS.
They explained the difficulties faced by contract and NRHM doctors and requested suitable measures to improve their remuneration and service benefits in view of the responsibilities being discharged by them.
The Commissioner (Health) reportedly assured that the matter would be examined and steps will be taken to consider their grievances, making suitable provisions in the budget keeping.
The doctors expressed their satisfaction and thanked the MP for taking up their concerns with the Administration.
