
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 04: Two days HRD Programme on Integrated Pest Management practices in rice crop was conducted on 01.12. 25 & 02.12.25 by Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC), Sri Vijayapuram under the Union Ministry of Agri. & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India at Farmer’s residence, Bharathpur, Neil Island, South Andaman in which 23 farmers, 02 State Agriculture Officials and 02CIPMC, Office staffs participated.
Mr. Vikram, AFO, State Agri. Office, Bharathpur in his welcome address briefed on the Importance of IPM in agriculture crops and Organic Farming.
Shri V. Sivagnanam, PPO(E), CIPMC, Sri Vijayapuram in his address emphasized upon ill effect of pesticides on human as well as the residual effect of pesticides and Judicious use of pesticides, explained about different IPM techniques and how to control Pest and Disease Demonstrated different type of traps, Bio pesticides and its usage.
Mr. Abishek Kumar, SA, CIPMC, Sri Vijaya puram discussed about seed treatment and Identification module of National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS) mobile app was explained to the farmers. IPM literatures were also distributed to the farmers.
