
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 22: An awareness programme on substance abuse was organized by the Directorate of Social Welfare under the campaign “Nasha Mukt Bharat, Khushaal Bharat” at JNRM College, Sri Vijaya Puram. The programme was attended by the students of B.A. Political Science, first-year, it is aimed to sensitize them about the harmful effects of alcohol and drug abuse while promoting collective efforts towards building a healthy, addiction-free society.
The session was led by the Project Assistant (NAPDDR) with participation from officials of the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), Anti-Narcotics Unit (CID), and the Directorate of Health Services. The speakers highlighted the objectives of NAPDDR and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and emphasized the importance of community participation, youth engagement, and inter-departmental coordination in preventing substance abuse.
