Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 22: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has expressed serious concern over the ongoing and severe load shedding crisis affecting the residents of South Andaman District.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Mr. Halder highlighted that the frequent and prolonged power cuts have caused immense hardship to the general public, including students, patients, business owners, and daily wage earners. He further pointed out that essential services are also being adversely affected due to the continuous disruption in power supply.
Mr. Halder stated that despite repeated assurances from the Administration, the situation remains unchanged and the people are enduring unbearable conditions. He has urged the authorities to take immediate and effective steps to permanently resolve the issue and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the South Andaman District.
Mr. Halder further said that if the Administration fails to address and rectify the issue within 15 days, the Congress Party will be left with no alternative but to organize a massive public protest and a “Bandh” to express the people’s frustration and demand accountability.
