Diglipur, June 29: Rundown footpath of Diglipur Bazaar area is a matter of serious concern and people are finding it very difficult to use the footpath, especially during rainy season, when walking on the footpath becomes too risky.
Pedestrians, especially senior citizens and divyang persons are often stumbling over broken tiles on this stretch of Diglipur Bazaar’s pavement, which might lead to a serious accident in the coming days.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, a divyang person, on condition of anonymity, said that divyang people and senior citizens face huge trouble while walking on the sidewalk. On one hand, the footpath in question is broken and is left with wobbly tiles and uneven surfaces and on the other hand a fair chunk of the pavement remains fully encroached/ occupied with the goods stacked by the shopkeepers.
Interestingly, when asked to the concerned departments, authorities found that they were passing the buck.
