PORT BLAIR, JAN 03: The ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder on Monday wrote to the Secretary (Education), Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan on Monday complaining about the lack of proper infrastructure and other arrangements in Govt. Senior Secondary School R.K Pur, Little Andaman.
In the letter, Mr. Halder highlighted that most of the desks, benches and blackboards in the classrooms are broken and need to be replaced with proper and new ones. He added that the classrooms are in need of urgent repair. The cement plaster of the classrooms has fallen down at several places. It is difficult for students to concentrate on their lessons in such uncomfortable surroundings.
He pointed out that most of the urine pots in toilets are broken and there are taps leaking and water logging on the floor. “Moreover, the post of Principal is lying vacant from a long time affecting the education of students because only a Principal can lead the team efficiently and can chalk out a strategy to improve students strength and resolve other issues” he said urging the Secretary (Education) to take prompt action and initiate steps to improve the quality of education in these islands.
