
Port Blair, Dec 29: The Food Safety Department Andaman & Nicobar Administration conducted Food Licensing & Registration drives at Ferrargunj, Shore point, Haddo, Bathu Basthi, Swaraj Dweep & Shaheed Dweep during this week.
These drives aims at facilitating the Food Business Operators to upload applications for grant/renewal of licenses, modifications in licenses, conversion of Registration Certificates into licenses as per annual turnover of the FBO through online and delivered at their doorsteps and also to ensure that no food business is operating without a valid FSSAI License/Registration Certificates.
The Food Safety officers detailed the participants about the complete online process of uploading applications and the procedures to make modifications in licenses. Around 628 Nos. of new Food Business Operators/Registration Certificate holders were covered in the drives conducted at six places. All queries of FBO’s related to Licence/Registration were cleared by the FSO’s on the spot.
The Commissioner of Food Safety/Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has insisted all FBOs that since FSSAI has made it mandatory to register and display the FSSAI License/Registration Number on receipts/invoices/cash memo/bill etc. by the FBOs during the sale of food products w.e.f 1st Jan, 2022, strict enforcement drives ensuring compliance with the said direction will be taken by Food Safety Department from the succeeding month.
