Port Blair, Nov 17: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today demanded early appointment of Guest Lecturers in the Departments of History, Economics, Geography & Environment and Cooperative Management.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands the Member of Parliament mentioned that due to non-appointment of Guest Lecturers in the Departments of History, Economics, Geography & Environment and Cooperative Management, the classes of these four Departments are not being conducted.
He added that since the beginning of this session, no classes of these four Departments have been conducted in the college as there are no permanent lecturers in these Departments and no Guest Lecturers have been appointed yet.
The Member of Parliament pointed out that if no proper classes are conducted students of MGGC will not be able to clear their exams and there will be a loss of one precious year.
Considering the present problem, the Member of Parliament requested the Lt. Governor to intervene in this matter and issue necessary directions to the Department of Education to speed up the process of appointing Guest Lecturers in Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder so that classes for the Department of History Department of Economics, Department of Geography and Environment and Department of Cooperative Management can be started at the earliest.
