Port Blair, Nov 14: The “Janjati Gourav Diwas” Tribal Pride day to be celebrated on November 15 on the eve of the birthday of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Hero of Tribal Identity. Andaman and Nicobar Islands Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram has welcomed the announcement of Central Government.
The Janjati Samaj has made an innumerable contributions in the freedom struggle of INDIA. Bhagwan Bisra Munda has been the leader of some revolutionaries who has struggled to protect water, land, forest and also to struggle to save culture has been considered as Hero of tribal Identity. That is why from his life time, the people of Jharkhand used call him “ DHARTI ABAA”.
The Janjati Samaj and Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram have been celebrating the Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as Janjati Gourav Diwas for many years to remember the glorious and the contribution of tribal society in the freedom struggle. Through this tribal society was searching for its Identity ,self respect and it has got recognition from this decision of the Government of INDIA and the Andaman and Nicobar Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram , Janjati Samaj and entire country warmly welcomes the decision of Central Government .
Birsa Munda not only a symbol of tribal Identity as scarified his life for the Janjati Samaj but also for the freedom of the entire country. This decision of Government of India recognizes the contribution not only Birsa Munda but also freedom fighters the Siddo Kanu , Tilka Manjhi, Punja Bhil, , Talakkal Chandu, Theerth Singh , Budhu Bhagat ,Veer Sambudhan Puglosa , and Gond Rani Durga Wathi. The Announcement during the nectar festival celebration of this year increases the importance of JANJATI GOURAV DIWAS . Therefore Remembering Bhagwan Birsa Munda and other sacrifices not only the Janjati Samaj but the entire country should celebrate 15th November with great Honour .
