Port Blair, Oct 26: Altogether 24 students of Class XI and XII grade from 8 Schools participated in which Asma Fatima of Carmel SSS emerged the Top Spell Bee to bag the Cash Prize of Rs 3000/- followed by S Jessy also from Carmel SSS bagging 2nd Place and Rs 2000/- prize money and Ranjay Jha of KV II coming third to win Rs 1000/-.Certificates of Appreciation were also handed over to the Top Ten finalists.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest Mr Rakesh Bali lauded the efforts of Rotary Club of Port Blair in organizing such event and congratulated the Students for their great performance in being able to spell out some very difficult words like ONOMATOPOEIA, CAMARADERIE, QUINTESSENTIAL, AILUROPHILE, SMITHEREENS and twisters like RENAISSANCE, OSTENTATIOUS, MNEMONIC. He said.
The Spell Bee was conducted by PP Rotarian Abhijit Agarwal with active support of Rtn Girish Arora, President Rotary Club of Port Blair with PP Rtn Dinakaran Guruswamy, PE Rtn Kaushik Banerjee ,IPP Rtn Zakir Jadwet, Rtn Dr Dinesh and Rtn Ahmed Badat.
The Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council, Mr Rakesh Bali distributed the prizes of the winners of First Rotary Spell Bee contest organized by the Rotary club, Port Blair at TSG Emerald View.
