Port Blair, Mar 09: On 08.03.2021 WITH YOU (NGO) celebrated its first anniversary and International Women’s Day 2021. The programe was held at RUAC hall, Bambooflat.
On this occasion it conducted various competitions like Rangoli, Mehandi and bouquet making. Ms Vedita Reddy, IAS Secretary (Fisheries, Agriculture, Animal hubandary and APWD) was the chief guest .The program was also attended by Smti Ratna Kannan, ex- chairperson Social welfare advisory board, Ms Rita Devi, Women Development officer, Social welfare department, Ms Varsha, Medical officer, AYUSH, Smti Sobha, Principal, GSSS Bambooflat, Smti Abida, Principal Shakeeba Public School, teachers, Anganwadi workers, & women from various walks of life besides students.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest Ms Vedita Reddy, Secretary extended her warm wishes to the women present on the occasion. She stressed that women should come forward for their dignity & self respect. She also urged to raise their voices against the attrocities being faced by them in the society. She further urged the women to be physically and mentally strong. She congratulated Ms V. K. Mariyam Bibi, President, WITH YOU (NGO) and her team for successfully completing it’s one year on this day. She appreciated the work of NGO specially done during the COVID 19 pandemic. The program started with cutting the cake by the Chief Guest.
The teachers of GSSS Bambooflat presented the welcome song and a skit on the theme of International women’s Day. Earlier welcoming the gathering, the President of WITH YOU (NGO) Ms V. K. Mariyam Bibi highlighted the various activities undertaken by the NGO in the past year such as distribution of free dry ration kits, masks, sanitary pads, drinking water , books and stationaries to the needy people. She urged the women to focus on their health, education and security which is very important for women’s development. She welcomed the Chief guest by presenting a shawl and bouquet.
The annual report of NGO was read by Smti Bimla Toppo, Joint Secretary, WITH YOU.
The students of NGO performed dance and a mono act.A momento was presented to the chief guest and a printed copy of annual report of NGO was released on this occasion.
Everything concluded successfully the competitors were given accolades by the dignitaries present who also acknowledged the efforts of WITH YOU over the past year.
More than 400 ladies attended the program. The vote of thanks proposed by Smti Seema, member WITH YOU (NGO).
