Port Blair, Mar 09: True Vision Foundation (TVF) NGO celebrated International Women’s Day at Kannada Sangha Building near Syndicate Bank Port Blair on 08th March 2021 with the theme of “Choose to Challenge”. Padmashree Awardee Mrs. Shanti Teresa Lakra, Medical Nurse & Healthcare Professional was the Chief Guest on the occasion. During the occasion the TFV felicitated the women from different walks of life who have shown the best services in their field at large for community, besides awarded cash prizes and momentos to COVID warriors and children’s who were participated in the drawing competition organised by TVF to mark the International Women’s Day. Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Lakra lauded the efforts were taken by the TVF NGO and stressed on the role of women and acknowledged their contribution to society. She shared her working experience in the department of Health Services and her contribution towards the tribal communities during the crisis situation in Andaman.
During the introductory remarks Smt. Tabassum Nisha Ali, President, TVF briefed about the activities of the NGO and shared the primary objectives of the society in free education and health sector to the vulnerable sections of the community and she reminded the strength of women folks.
Smt. Lakshmi Ganeshan, Smt. Razia Begum, Ms. Edith Thompson, Inspector, A & N Police were the special invitees on the occasion.
Earlier, Shri Safuwan, Secretary True Vision Foundation welcomed the gathering. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Tajun Nisha Executive Member of the society, followed by refreshment.
