Port Blair, Oct 18: Suriya Joint Liability Group promoted and trained in food processing by UNNATI with the support of NABARD and financed a sum of Rs 2 lacs by A&N State Co-operative Bank opened its shop for sale food processing products at Burmanallah on 18.10.2012.
This was inaugurated by Shri. Athirstavel, General Manager, NABARD in presence of Shri. C. Mohammed, President UNNATI and Smti. Maimuna, Pradhan, Beondnabad, Shri. Athirstavel, General Manager, NABARD assured support for packing if members of Self Help Groups and Joint Liability Groups engaged in food processing formed into a Co-operative Societies. UNNATI is arranging pouches, label and preservative to produces on payment but to encourage food processing in large in A&N Island to generative more employment to women & unemployed youths we may consider to supply of pouches, preservative etc. to SHGs and JLGs engrained in food processing departmentally as being supplied agriculture inputs and essentials fisheries requisite by the department at subsidised rate.
Smti. Suni President Surya JLG expressed thanks to UNNATI, NABARD and A&N State Co-operative Bank for effective implementation of such useful self-employment scheme for the benefit rural women.
