Port Blair, Oct 18: The Police Entertainment Team (PET) has grown considerably in the last two years. The PET under Dy.SP Shaukat Hussain presently consists of thirty members drawn from the India Reserve Battalion, local Police, Police Radio, Fire Brigade etc.
On repeated requests received by the DGP, the team had been deputed to entertain the largely rural population of North and Middle Andaman by organizing free shows for the general public. In spite of the rainy conditions the PET manage to draw large crowds at Diglipur, Kalighat, Mayabunder, Billiground, Bakultala, Rangat, Kadamtala and Baratang Islands.
More than thirty thousand members of the public witnessed the show. Messages of appreciation from PRI’s, Pradhan and other prominent citizens have been received.
A special show will shortly be organized at the Netaji Stadium, Port Blair to celebrate the 150th year of the Indian Police. All members of the public are invited to the function. There shall be no admission charges for the public.
