Port Blair, Feb 24: Several hours long power cuts seven to eight times a day have become a constant source of discomfort for residents of New Pahargaon and nearby areas.
The power cuts are so long that even people having inverter are unable to cope up with the situation, forget about miseries being faced by people who can’t afford an inverter. Sadly there is no power cut schedule and people can’t even plan their daily works. Worst hit are the students, who have to attend online classes.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department, Er. Ajit Bernard, he said that he has no information about such power cuts in New Pahargaon area but he said he will be inquiring about the issue.
