Port Blair, Feb 07: The Deputy Commissioner of Nicobar District, Mr. Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman said that an inquiry has been ordered on the incident of 04 February 2021, where a large number of Nicobar Tribal People had gathered infront of the PS Car Nicobar and also the AC office of Car Nicobar in protest.
“An inquiry has been ordered and I am awaiting the report,” the DC said.
He added that the report of the inquiry will be finalized by next week and only after that the District Administration can understand who was responsible for this incident.
As per details, nearly 250 tribal people gathered infront of Car Nicobar Police Station on Friday protesting against seizure of vehicle of tribal people. Later when Police team of Car Nicobar explained them that the vehicle was only brought to Car Nicobar Police station as per orders of Assistant Commissioner, and was not officially seized, the crowd went towards AC office and expressed their anger infront of AC office.
