Port Blair, Oct 13: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has been awarded the UNICEF “Parliamentarians’ Group for Children Awards 2020” by the Parliamentarians Group for Children (PGC) on 07.10.2020 in recognition of his performance in raising the child right issues in the Monson and Winter Session 2019 and Budget Session 2020 of 17th Lok Sabha.
The award has been selected using a transparent and rigorous statistical methodology based on carefully observed performance parameters derived from the three important pillars of parliamentary functioning, i.e. parliamentary questions, debates and private member legislations to capture the performance of MPs across broad outputs, namely child health, child education, child nutrition, child rights, water and sanitation etc.
The Parliamentarians’ Group for Children who awarded the same is a platform by Parliamentarians working towards realising child rights are supported by Swaniti Initiative.
