Port Blair, Sept 29: The District Administration in its bid to contain the further spread of COVID-19 at Little Andaman is taking all possible measures. In this connection, a team of medical officials comprising of one Community Health Officer, one medical staff to augment the existing capacity are deputed and also the items consisting of sanitizer pumps, bedsheets, PPE kits, thermal scanners and quarantine stickers were sent to meet the immediate requirements.
Since the residents of Harminder Bay were facing difficulties in getting mobile connectivity to call ambulance on emergency, the issue was discussed by the AC (HQ) stationed at Little Andaman as Special Officer with the ADG(P) and SP (SA). Taking swift action, the VHF set was installed at Govt. Sr. Secondary School, Harminder Bay with one duty officer round the clock.
The AC(HQ) stationed at Little Andaman to oversee the arrangements is regularly visiting all the COVID Care Centres and it is being ensured that hygiene, sanitation, sanitization and overall arrangements for the welfare of the COVID positive persons are given the utmost importance.
